Welcome to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission's Public Input Forum to discuss the feasibility of hunting migratory birds on Sunday in North Carolina.
What do you think about allowing migratory bird hunting on Sunday? Currently, Sunday hunting for migratory birds, including waterfowl, is prohibited. Through this public input forum, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission urges you to offer input on this topic and share your opinion.
The Commission has hired an independent, non-biased research firm, Responsive Management, to conduct a statewide study on attitudes toward hunting migratory birds on Sunday and develop a report outlining its social and economic impacts. The North Carolina General Assembly requires that the Commission complete a research study on the biological, economic, and social impacts of hunting migratory birds on Sunday to the General Assembly no later than March 1, 2018.
We want to hear from you! This website has been established as a dedicated forum in which hunters, residents, and stakeholders may communicate with one another and share feedback with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission—all comments will be read and considered as part of the decision-making process. Visitors will be able to post comments on this website until January 15, 2018. Please click on the Discussion Forum tab at the top of the page.
